August Website Updates

[08-03 23:16:15] -UFG-Kirk: Hey everyone! I was thinking with the start of this new month... the last month of my summer break... I would poll you guys about our website.

This new website and forum, if I remember right, were put online at the beginning of July. So after a month of being online, I can certainly think of some ways to improve it, and I want feedback from you guys too!

Please respond to as many of these bullet points as you want, I need all the feedback I can get so I know what you guys want to see done here.

Features I'd Like to See, Personally:
- After you login, return to the forums if that's where you logged in from. Otherwise, go to member panel.
- Prevention against double posts. I've already seen it happen twice where people will hit refresh, send the post data again, and end up posting twice.
- Option to have forum post order reversed, so newest posts show up on top of a thread instead of on the bottom.
- Forum threads show "Today" and "Yesterday" instead of the month\day when it can. [Suggested by Spartan1337].

Obviously, the clan ladder is still coming. Those of you who I normally consult about my beta testing of projects have seen a lot of the exciting new features that are going to be unveiled this month!

To everyone else: Please, no suggestions about the clan ladder. It's being worked on, and there's a lot of details I still have to work out before I'll be ready to talk about it with the general public.

Now that said, what drives you absolutely crazy about this site? I aim to make it as easy to use and as visually pleasing as possible... and I'm open to any suggestions for the August development cycle. And even if I don't add your feature this month because it's too complicated or something, I still might add it in the near future... so don't hesitate to make any and all suggestions.

[08-03 03:41:14] {UFG}KillGodRin: Is there anything in the works along the lines of profile pics? Not necessarily in the forums, but just so that we can have them if we get public profiles again?

Also, siggys needed soon! I don't care if the siggy is 50 chars long, but some kind of siggy would be nice.

As for signatures, that kind of defeats the purpose of this "compact" forum design I think.

Profile pics will probably be coming, just for the member list... but it's not really a priority on my list.

I'm also thinking I'll have the page reload after you post... so pressing refresh won't send the postdata again. It's kind of a flawed system just because of that. lol.

Looks like I'll have to fix that, before I worry about optional updates to the website... I still want everyone's input though.

Some easy stuff might get done as a warm-up before I get off my ass and fix the other, more complicated, script.
