I just got up, will be heading off to work in a bit here.

Decided to check my upload progress.

Not sure what happened at 5AM there, but WOOH! My Internet connection is still ftw.

Anyway, that was the first of two videos. If I have Internet at work today, I'll get it posted on the official Jabber page here. It details how to install the Spark client I'm pushing.

I recorded it with some open source screen capture software to raw AVI format. It ended up being 1.7GB for a short video clip, lol. I decided rather than converting it - and losing a ton of quality - I would let YouTube convert it for me.

Good choice on my part. I'm really happy with how the HQ video appears, quality wise, so that's what I'm going to be doing for the second video as well, which is 1.8GB.

I don't want to call a ton of attention to my ISP by uploading at full bore for another 4 hours today - plus it's getting closer to prime hours, so people will need the bandwidth. I'm not an asshole, I only max out the DOWNLOAD when people need it.

Anyway, first video will be posted sometime today, and the video on how to use it and manage contacts will appear online sometime tomorrow hopefully. I'm planning on doing the same early morning YouTube upload I did today.

I'm really excited to announce that we'll be rolling out profile pictures, and actual profiles. The only thing is, unlike "forum avatars" that you're used to, these profile pictures will only be shown on your personal info page. Oh well.

I loved that I came to check up on the forums, and I don't check them for a while because I'm too busy searching my hard drive for a suitable profile pic. I should REALLY organize some of my pics.

I looked through a lot of it before posting this, and quite frankly it seems like it's not too much of an effort to make them, you just need to know the process.

Alternatively, we could edit something that already exists, if it's moddable to fit what we need.
